As a student of industrial design, Filip Van Roe accidentally came into contact with photography. Immediately smitten, he became passionate about it and developed a style of his own. He is fascinated with the density in pictures, with the emotional depth and atmosphere of his portraits. Filip’s exposure has the impact of intimate revelation. Inescapable and terribly true.
Today, he combines artistic and commercial photography. He collaborates with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Matthias Schoenaerts, has worked for Nike, MTV, Volkswagen, Microsoft, Deutche Bank, AB Inbev, was published in Marie-Claire, Vogue, The Sunday Times, Newsweek, Première, GQ, Men’s Health and did photoshoots for many celebrities.
He exhibited in Palais des Beaux Arts (Brussels, Belgium), Museum der Moderne (Salzburg, Austria), Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik (Croatia), Museo Carlo Bilotti (Villa Borhese, Rome, Italy), Museum De Fundatie (Zwolle, Netherlands), Sadler’s Wells (London, UK) and in various other locations in Belgium.
